Shop terms
Effective from 20 October 2026
These terms apply to purchases in the Hljómey web shop at hljomey.is. By placing an order the buyer accepts the terms. The sale is governed by Icelandic law, in particular Act no. 16/2016 on Consumer Contracts and Act no. 48/2003 on Consumer Sales. These terms never limit the rights consumers have under law. In case of discrepancy the Icelandic version prevails.
1. Seller
KGBS ehf., ID no. 630625-1300, Vestmannabraut 11, 900 Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland.
Email: hljomey@hljomey.is · Phone: +354 849 1826.
The seller is not registered for VAT and does not charge VAT.
2. Prices and payment
All prices are in Icelandic krónur (ISK). Shipping costs are shown before the order is placed and are added to the price if the goods are sent.
Payment is made by card on the secure payment page of the payment provider Rapyd. Card details never pass through the Hljómey website and the seller never sees them.
An order is binding once payment has been received. The buyer gets a receipt on the website after paying. The seller may cancel an order, e.g. if a product is sold out or a price is wrong, and will then refund in full.
3. Delivery
- Pick up at Vestmannabraut 11 in the Westman Islands by arrangement. The seller contacts the buyer to find a time. Free of charge.
- Sent with Pósturinn (Iceland Post) to the buyer’s door, a post office or a Póstbox locker chosen by the buyer. The shipping price is Pósturinn’s price for the postcode and weight and is shown before payment. The buyer receives a tracking number.
Goods are normally dispatched within 3–5 working days of payment. The seller will let the buyer know if delivery takes longer. Risk passes to the buyer when the buyer, or a person they nominate, takes possession of the goods.
4. Right of withdrawal (14 days)
Under Act no. 16/2016 on Consumer Contracts the buyer may withdraw from the purchase without giving a reason within 14 days of the day on which the buyer, or a third party nominated by the buyer, takes possession of the goods.
To withdraw, the buyer must inform the seller with a clear statement, e.g. by email to hljomey@hljomey.is, before the period expires. The form below may be used but is not required.
The buyer must return the goods, or hand them in at Vestmannabraut 11, without undue delay and no later than 14 days after informing the seller. The buyer bears the direct cost of returning the goods.
The seller refunds all payments, including standard delivery costs, no later than 14 days after receiving the notice. The refund is made to the card used unless otherwise agreed. The seller may withhold the refund until the goods have been received or the buyer has shown that they have been sent back.
The buyer is liable for any diminished value resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods. Goods should be returned undamaged and preferably in their original packaging.
The right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to the buyer’s specifications or clearly personalised.
5. Model withdrawal form
Complete and return this form only if you wish to withdraw from the contract.

6. Defects and complaints
If goods turn out to be defective the buyer has rights under Act no. 48/2003 on Consumer Sales, including repair, replacement, a price reduction or cancellation. The buyer should notify the seller within a reasonable time of discovering the defect. The final deadline for complaints about defects is two years from the day the buyer received the goods.
Complaints and questions can be sent to hljomey@hljomey.is or by phone on +354 849 1826. The seller will respond as soon as possible.
7. Disputes
If a dispute arises, the parties will first try to resolve it between themselves. If that fails, the buyer may turn to the Icelandic Complaints Committee for Goods and Services (Kærunefnd vöru- og þjónustukaupa), which handles disputes between consumers and sellers out of court, or to the Consumer Agency (Neytendastofa).
These terms are governed by Icelandic law. Any legal action shall be brought before the District Court of South Iceland, unless the law gives the consumer the right to another venue.
